Asset Library
The Asset Library is a table of public-domain arrangements. You are free to download, print, share, and/or perform any of these! You can filter by Difficulty (see explanation below) or by tags such as Hymn, Gershwin, or Americana.
Copyrighted Works
This section contains links to copyrighted works that I have arranged. You can purchase them through SheetMusicDirect. The prices are the minimum I’m allowed to charge, and I’m only allowed a maximum of 5 titles per item, so I’ve tried to pack as much as I can into each one.
Because most members of our target audience (nursing home residents) are older adults, almost all of these tunes are pre-1980. I may start arranging more recent music soon; please reach out to me if you have any specific requests!
About Flute Trios
Difficulty Ratings
Our flute choir was asked to perform for some local nursing home residents on relatively short notice. With no time to prepare and uncertain instrumentation, our director decided to pull out sight-readable trios and have everyone play C flute (no altos or basses). The first performance was a hit! We were asked to come back several more times.
But we couldn’t keep playing the same songs over and over – we needed some new tunes. That’s where I got involved.
I’d worked in health care for years, and also spent time volunteering by playing the piano and leading sing-alongs. I’ve seen first-hand how important music is to the mental and social well-being of older adults, and I felt they deserved some new memories with some fun old songs. I also wanted to push our performers a little beyond sight-reading and give them more challenging, sophisticated arrangements.
What started as a small collection of a few tunes has exploded into a multi-volume project. I’m not done yet, so please keep checking back for more!
Difficulty ratings are determined by a formula I adapted from Jennifer Cluff’s website (https://www.jennifercluff.com). The rating scales are below. The ratings from all four areas are averaged to produce an overall number, which is then ranked as Easy, Moderate, or Challenging.
Easy: Less than 1.5
Moderate: 1.5 to 2.5
Challenging: Greater than 2.5
